As evolving stewards of the world, we are provided many tools & choices for offsetting the negative impacts or to continue as we have. Finally there is a functional tool for assisting nature and her corals reefs in the healing processes!
One of these tools is the reason for this introduction to BioRock. A proven simple system for offsetting some of the high stress level our coral reefs are being subjected to by our very activities. We are not going away, but the reefs may, so let‟s apply it!
And they are…
Thru the intuitive energies of caring individuals and the Lauderdale By The Sea Commissioners, an „electric reef‟ is in early development stages. Working together Global Coral Reef Alliance, Cry of The Water and many local dive & marine sports enthusiasts, The “Lectric-Reef”, as I call it, will be a local reality.
Our contribution is in the design & evolution of a solar powered buoy for providing the low level dc electricity required, while able to withstand open-water sea conditions common to our area. The success of the „power buoy‟ system will remove the necessity for land-based electric power sources which have been confining the system to protected waters.
Therefore the technology can virtually be installed anywhere there is sun & reef!!

And presenting
The primary participants, discussing the merits of this effort:
Mark Furth,
Publisher, By the Sea Times.
Our off shore marine environment draws many diving enthusiasts from all over the world and is an important assets to Broward County. Unfortunately over the years many reefs have declined including those in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Biorock reefs are designed to create a new environmentally suitable base, LBTS is taking a pro-active approach in enhancing their coral reef and fish habitat.
Dan & Stephanie Clark
Cry of the Water.
An application for designation of Outstanding Florida Waters will be submitted to for the Ft Lauderdale, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and Pompano Beach nearshore coral reef communities to FDEP. This designation is being sought in order to increase the level of water quality protection being provided to these waters.
We look forward to your attending.
Please R.S.V.P.
Sincerely Yours,
