“It’s going to fall more on people like me to do the digging and keep tabs on public officials,” Petitt said.
But government won’t make it easy for them.
Petitt learned that recently, when she requested two years’ worth of e-mail from City Manager David Rivera and logs of the city’s credit card spending.
When the city clerk notified Petitt that her information was available, she was told she’d have to pay $170, including $124 in labor costs.
